From a young age, I was always interested in creativity and self-expression. I was constantly drawing, reading, and trying to understand how things worked. I remember being fascinated while watching TV, by the commercials that aired between segments. I was intrigued by the colors, the music, the story, and the ways they connected with the viewer. I still remember many that stuck with me over the years. As I grew up, I realized I wanted to get into media and advertising; to take part in creating the commercials and campaigns that we interact with daily. When I entered high school, I explored this idea further. I went to a journalistic-centered high school, that allowed me to work behind and in front of the camera. I began to create news packages, write stories and I even anchored the school news show. I realized that with a camera or pen in hand, storytelling was easy and it came naturally. These experiences inspired me to pursue this passion at Elon University, which I recently graduated from in May 2023, having majored in Strategic Communications with a minor in Business Administration. Throughout my time at Elon, I have learned the ins and outs of strategic communications and the advertising world. I took courses that gave me both experience and a first look into the many aspects of the media industry. These experiences helped me understand that this is what I want to do. Elon has offered me many opportunities to connect with professionals and work towards my goals. While there, I also pursued other aspects of media such as working in professional sports broadcasting, and was able to partake in life-changing experiences such as studying abroad twice and being part of a fraternity. In the Summer of 2023, post-graduation, I was fortunate to intern with Sublime Communications In Greenwich, CT. This experience enabled me to hone my skills and prepare for a professional career. There, I worked on copywriting, writing for advertisements, social media marketing, editing, Graphic Design, and Production. I hope to build upon my skills and connections and get a job in the industry, telling stories and connecting brands to consumers.
